The family side of Pills Taken

One pill. One button. You see it.

Pills Taken is the app on their phone. It shows one pill at a time and one button to confirm it, and it never asks them to type anything. This is the other half, the one you use: you add the medications and the times here, and you see whether each dose was confirmed.

Both halves free. No account on their phone.

Why this exists

My wife ended up in the hospital for a week because she was not taking her thyroid medicine consistently.

She has to take it two hours before any food, every single day. Some days she took it late, some days she forgot, and over time it caught up with her.

So I built the phone so she only has to press one button. And I built this page so I can see that she pressed it, without calling to ask.

That is the whole product.

How it works

  1. Put Pills Taken on their iPhone. It is free. There is nothing to set up on that phone, and no account to make on it.Download Pills Taken on the App Store
  2. Create your account here.An email and a password. This side is yours, not theirs.
  3. They tap Invite Family and read you six characters. You type those characters in. That is the whole connection, and it goes in that direction on purpose: they read, you type. The code skips O, 0, I, L and 1, so nothing gets misheard.
  4. Add their medications and the times. The pills appear on their phone, their phone reminds them, and you see each one as it is confirmed.

Free. Both halves, with no subscription and nothing to buy.

Pills Taken is a reminder and a record. Confirming a dose records that a button was pressed, not that a pill was swallowed. It does not give medical advice. Anything about the medication itself belongs with a doctor or pharmacist.
